Steroids in sports has become a big deal lately, especially since some of these hulking behemoths have retired and are becoming eligible for the Hall of Fame. The self-important voters bestowed with vigilantly defending the hallowed nature of the Hall are trying to figure out what to do about steroids in the game. What do these geniuses come up with? Hey, let's use an asterisk next to the dude's name to let everybody know how terrible a person he was. Really? We're going to go with punctuation? Why couldn't my father have subscribed to this method of discipline? I would have preferred getting whipped by a semi-colon opposed to the belt after stealing the car at 8 years old. That's even less impactful than a timeout.
I've taken the liberty of exploring the pros and cons of this policy for the up and coming ballplayers of today. On one hand...fame, endorsements, women, and millions of dollars...versus a vacation that they're going to call a suspension and some baseball geek hitting SHIFT 8 on his computer keyboard.
Tough call.
